Ashley - Always in our HeartsKatrina Ashley Wexler was born January 25, 1986 in Katy, Texas. She was a happy sweet child from the start. Always smiling and laughing, you couldn't help but fall in love with her.
Ashley was an extremely bright, talented, smart child. She was in the honor classes throughout school. she was very talented in writing and drawing. She has even been published twice in poetry books and has won numerous awards for her writing.
Like a lot of teenagers, Ashley did make some wrong decisions and had some trouble. But we got her help and she was back on track. Her last report card was all A's. She was back to her old happy sweet selp. She was my best friend and I miss her beyond words.
Ashley was riding in a car with her best friend on October 21, 2001 when it went out of control. She died less than two hours later. We never got to see her again. By the time we got to the hospital, she was gone. She died from blunt head and chest trauma.
The next day we were planning a funeral for our beautiful daughter. Something no parent should ever have to go through. I don't know how we did it. We were and still are in a daze. We just go through the motions, not really feeling anything.
Until we can all be together again, Ashley will be right here close in our hearts.
