Little Rosebud

God looked around His garden
And found an empty space.
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best.
He knew that you were in pain,
He knew that you would never get well
Upon this earth again.
He saw the roads getting rough
And the hills harder to climb,
So he closed your weary eyelids and
Whispered, "Peace be Thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

We miss you so much, Michaela -- your bright smile, your wonderful sense of humor, the joy you brought to people just by being you. We are still learning the lessons you taught us -- bravery, courage, unconditional love.

If we listen closely,
We can almost hear their whispers
And their laughter,
As they play above us,
In the Heavenly Playground.

We are forever changed
For knowing the gift that was you.
We miss you terribly
And who you would have been
But we are better people because
You touched our lives
If only for a little while.
