Stories of Lost Children

Our Punky-Girl, Kyla Theresa
by Sarah, Madison, AL, U.S.A.

I dreamed of my sweet little punky-girl all my life. Finally on July 25th 2000, she was born, a perfect pregnancy, perfect birth, and perfect baby. Kyla was very spoiled and got to go to many different places. She got to fly in an airplane (mommy's 1st time too!) and travel many miles by car to see grandparents. She had been to a 1/2 dozen zoos across the country and saw many concerts as well. Then one day on October 8th, we were shopping. We came home, and after feeding her some cookies, I went to the bathroom. Later, I noticed it too quiet, and Ky not in her tv/playroom. She was floating in the pool out back. All the doors were locked and/or gated, but somehow she figured out the dog door. I jumped in and pulled her out and began CPR. It was already too late. EMTs arrived and restarted her heart, but our little Kyla......was GONE!!

She was practically brain dead and remained in a coma until Oct 24, 2002. I was glad to have her just to her mommy and daddy that day. But we miss her so..... She was so bright, and happy and loved by all who ever laid eyes on her.

Kyla T, you'll forever be missed, but NEVER forgotton.

Love, your mum-mum-mee-me Sarah
