Stories of Lost Children

The Two Littlest Angels
by Kiara Ramirez, Downey, CA, U.S.A.

I found out I was expecting my first baby I was so so happy. I always wanted a baby, read every book, and every article from the baby magazines. I also read about SIDS. It said babies were in danger mostly from 1 to 5 months. When Joshua was born, I watched him breath as he slept all the time. When he was 6 weeks old, I went back to work leaving him with my mom (they adored each other). As soon as he heard the car, he knew mommy was home as would start kicking his little legs so fast as if he was running towards me, and by 4 months he already gave me the most wonderful wet kisses. On March 25 he was turning 5 months and I thought he would be free from SIDS. Daddy and I were going shopping for his big car seat and his very first Easter basket. We were just 1 week away from Easter, but that morning Joshy never woke up. SIDS took him from me.

I wanted nothing else but to die; he was my life and now that he was gone I no longer had a life. I used to go to bed at night and say, God take me too. I have no reason to stay, and 2 weeks later he answered me. I was 4 weeks pregnant and I did have a reason. My beautiful daughter was born exactly 9 months after her brother's death and life got a little better. My baby girl is my sunshine. 3 years later I got pregnant again with my third baby, another son. I was so scared when I found out that I was having a boy.

I had 3 baby showers and my daughter was so happy and proud of her soon to be baby brother. We picked the name Justin for him, everything was ready. I was just waiting for my labor pain to begin. My daughet knew that whenever mommy had to go it was to go get her her brother. So I went but didn't bring her a brother because he was born dead with the unbilical cord wrapped around his neck, so beautiful and peaceful.

I'm not even 30 yet but I already have 2 angels in heaven and 1 star on earth.
